The Futures Campaign
For more than 130 years, Central Washington University has strengthened our state’s social and economic fabric, producing teachers, healthcare workers, business leaders, and changemakers who strengthen communities across the state. As Washington grows and evolves, demand for skilled talent is outpacing the state's ability to recruit and retain it. The Futures Campaign ensures CWU remains a leader in accessible higher education while developing the workforce Washington needs most.
The Futures Campaign has set an ambitious goal: raise $75 million for expanded student support and engage with 25,000 alumni and community members. Every dollar and every connection moves Washington closer to a future where opportunity is available to everyone who seeks it. The Futures Campaign is organized around three pillars, each representing a strategic investment in CWU's capacity to serve students and strengthen Washington. Together they form a complete vision for the university's next chapter.

A CWU education is Washington's most accessible catalyst for opportunity. The Opportunity pillar ensures economic barriers never determine a student's future—through scholarships, basic needs support, affordable course materials, and first-generation student resources. Half of the Futures Campaign goal is dedicated here because access is where futures begin.

CWU is a training ground for life. The Experience pillar expands real-world training, internships, and career-connected learning so every student graduates not just with a degree, but with the skills and confidence to lead. When students engage deeply with transformative experiences, they don't just enter the workforce. They shape it.
