- Nearly half of incoming CWU students are the first in their families to attend college.
- CWU educates more first-generation students, students of color, students receiving financial aid, and Washington residents than any other public university in the state.
- Over 78 percent of CWU students receive financial aid.
- 26 percent of student families live below the state poverty line.
